Record Label Research: WMG


WMG is the only record label of the big four that cannot trace it ancestory back to either the Columbia Phonograph Company or Berliner Gramaphone. WMG originally started as a division of the Warner Bros Records in 1958. The founding of WRB was a reaction to one of it actors getting a hit song with Dot Records

Divisions
WMG has is broken down into 4 divisions; Atlantic Records Group, Warner Bros Recording Inc, Rhino Entertainment and Independant Record Labels.
Each of these serves as an umbrella to smaller record companies. Each division has between 10 and 20 record companies under it.

ARG: Atlantic Records, Electra Records, Lava Records, Roadrunner Records.
Warner Bros; Warner Bros Records, Asylum Records, Marverick, Reprise Reocords, Sire Records.
Rhino; Rhino Records, Atco records, WMG Soundtrcks, Rhino Home Video.
Independent; Cordless Records, East West Records (Umbrella Label), Rykodisk Records.
